Ashley Mathews Killed in Rawlins, Wyoming Trucking Wreck

Ashley Michelle Mathews, from Williamston, Wyoming, was killed Monday when her vehicle was hit by an 18-wheeler truck. Christopher Albert Burton, 30, was injured with a fractured vertebra in the wreck.

According to reports, Chad Henderson, 50, was driving an 18-wheeler truck when he said he reached down to grab some candy. In doing so, Henderson took his eyes from the road and veered onto the shoulder, where he hit the truck belonging to the victims. Mathews died after the wreck from her injuries.

The victims were apparently on the shoulder of the road due to problems with their vehicle. Henderson was later charged with aggravated homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault and battery, in addition to charges of reckless driving and failure to maintain a single lane of travel.
