Two people were killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler truck early Friday near Belton, South Carolina.
Police reports indicate that the accident took place on Highway 29. In addition to the two deaths, two others were seriously hurt.
The crash took place as a passenger car drove south on Highway 29. The car drove over a hill and struck an 18-wheeler that was slowing down and turning into a private drive. After the collision, the car veered off the side of the road, flipped over, and struck a pole.
The driver and front passenger, Lawrence Boseman III and Julian Singleton, respectively, were killed in the wreck. The two seriously injured individuals were in the back seat – these two were flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital by helicopter, and have not been identified.
Traffic on highway 21 was closed for several hours, as it took emergency crews a long time to move the large truck off the highway.
