Massive Cuisinart Recall Affects 8.3 Million Food Processors From 1996-2015

A recall just announced by Cuisinart (owned by Conair), the home appliance marker, has called back 8.3 million food processors sold in the United States in Canada. The range of sale dates on these processors covers almost 20 years, from July 1996 to December 2015. The affected models are food processors with riveted blades that can possibly crack over time. This can cause small metal pieces of the blades to break off and fall into the processed food.

Cuisinart recently reported the problem to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, stating that it received 69 reports of the food processors blades shattering in use. These included 30 reports of injuries to people who ate food made in the affected processors, who suffered injuries to their teeth and mouth.
