4 teenagers were killed Monday after a crash occurred between their vehicle and an 18-wheeler truck. A fifth was injured in the accident.
The teens, four boys and a girl, were driving a Lincoln Navigator SUV at the time of the wreck. Three were trapped inside the car after the collision, while the driver was ejected from the vehicle. None of the deceased teenagers have yet been identified. They were all students at Langston Hughes High School in Atlanta.
According to Fulton police, the teenage driver of the Lincoln Navigator ran a red light and caused the collision.
The girl in the Lincoln Navigator, identified as sophomore Lexus Todd, was the only survivor from the car. She was pulled out of the back seat by emergency officials and sent to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. She was reported to have suffered crushed legs and bleeding in her brain, but is expected to be okay.
The driver of the 18-wheeler also suffered minor injuries, and was treated at a hospital.
