Earlier this weekend three children were injured when the SUV they were in was hit by a tractor trailer.
The wreck took place at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday night in Liberty, North Carolina, at the intersection of Greensboro Street and Swannanoa Avenue.
Exact details of what caused the wreck are unclear at this time, though the SUV flipped over as a result of the crash, according to Liberty police. The three kids were transported to Moses Cone Hospital and Brenner Children’s Hospital. The identities of all parties involved have not yet been released.
Police stated that although the driver of the large truck is not suspected as having been impaired, charges may still be filed pending the completion of an investigation.
Highway Patrol officials brought out accident reconstructionists to help with the investigation.
