A multi-vehicle highway accident that unfolded last Friday on Interstate 264 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, resulted in the death of two people. Six others were additionally injured.
According to Virginia State Police, Sherita Morgan, 44, and Brittany Landers-Morgan, 20, were traveling west in a Chrysler Pacifica minivan. The Pacifica crossed over the highway median and hit a Lexus traveling east, in the opposite direction. The Chrysler then flipped into the air and hit an eastbound Honda minivan.
Morgan, the driver of the Pacifica, was seriously injured and was sent to a nearby hospital via ambulance. The passenger, Landers-Morgan, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Lexus, Stephen W. Austin, 63, was also killed in the crash. His wife was transported to a hospital for treatment for her serious injuries. The occupants of the Honda minivan – a male driver, his wife, and two children aged 9 and 7, were also sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are still investigating the crash, and charges are still pending. No contributing factors have been reported by police at this time.
