Two drivers were injured late Monday morning when a GMC Yukon SUV crashed into an 18-wheeler truck in Madison County, Mississippi.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 22 at Knowles Road near the town of Richton. The names of the parties involved have not yet been released.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Authorities stated that the big rig truck was driving east on Highway 22 while the Yukon, heading west, veered into the eastbound lane and struck the large truck.
The drivers of both cars were injured and transported to local hospitals. The driver of the Yukon was transported by helicopter.
Reports did not indicate whether charges had been filed relating to this incident.
